FAQS about the Texas Lady Heat

When and where are the games played?
Irving Fall League(September-Nov.).  We also play in tournaments throughout the DFW metroplex once or twice a month.  The majority of our tournments are played during the months of March-July. Tournaments are almost always played on the weekends.

We play in tournaments throughout the DFW area. We will play between 14-20 tournaments.

Where and when will we practice?
Practice will be held in the Arlington/Mansfield area every Wednesday at 7:15pm.  Location will be announced! 

All games and practices are mandatory.

What age bracket does my daughter qualify for?
We only have 1 age bracket at the moment which is 5th

grade.  Age is determined by your daughters’ age as

September 1, 2008. Example: DOB is June 16, 1998 then you will be eligible to play on our 10U team for 2008/2009.

What are some of the benefits?
Many!!  We offer excellent coaching; We stress sound

fundamental basketball, offer free instructional clinics and

open gyms. Give you the chance to play basketball with

girls of the same ability and better prepares you for school

ball.

Is this for my daughter and I?
Only you can answer that. If you want to give your daughter the chance to play with and against some of the better players in the state. If you would like the chance to get away and see other parts of the state while meeting and befriending other parents and girls from different school districts then YES this is for you!

What is the cost for all of this?
Registration is $160.  The monthly fee is $80.  This fee helps to pay for tournament fees and uniforms, gym rental, along with any other administrative costs.  You will also be asked to participate in at least three fundraisers to help with expenses and to help keep your cost down.

What if my daughter wants to play but I don’t think we can afford it?

Call us! The Texas Lady Heat will try to work out payment plans with you if needed.  The Coach and other parents are usually more than happy to help with transportation problems as well.

What team will my daughter play on and is she guaranteed a spot on a team?
We only have 1 team which consist of 10 players(more at the coaches discretion) and and no one is guaranteed a spot on the team. Players will be selected by Coach Burks. While we don’t want to turn anyone away, we cannot guarantee everyone will make the team.
